FAQ
We understand there’s a lot to learn about what we do. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions.
What does Operation Sharing do?
Operation Sharing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and families facing food insecurity. Through compassion, community partnerships, and direct assistance, Operation Sharing works to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food and essential resources.
How are your programs funded?
Operation Sharing relies heavily on community donations, local partners, and fundraising efforts to keep programs running.
Who can use your services?
Anyone in Oxford County who is experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, financial hardship, or needs extra support is welcome to reach out.
What items do you accept as
donations?
We always need hygiene products, school snacks, pantry staples, winter wear, and seasonal items. Financial donations are also greatly appreciated and help us fill urgent gaps.
What is Food for Friends?
Food for Friends is our community-supported pantry program that provides food staples, school snacks, and fresh items (when available) to individuals and families.
What can't I donate?
We cannot accept expired food, torn or soiled clothing, furniture, or household items. A simple rule of thumb: if you wouldn’t eat it, wear it, or use it yourself, it’s likely someone else wouldn’t either.
